I have curated these lists of projects and funds of causes close to my heart. These are located on Turtle Island, where I am an uninvited guest and a settler. This is a growing list, I add projects as I learn about them and take suggestions from community members. From Black Lives Matter, Stop Asian Hate, Indigenous Solidarity, and Trans Fundraisers there is much we can do to share wealth and uplift others marginalized by society.

Each section has an excerpt from the project creator themselves, the fund link, and their website (if applicable).

Indigenous Mutual Aid

We don't want to see endless fundraisers and non-profit industrial cooptation get in the way of necessary work on the ground. We want to ensure critical resources get directly into the hands of anti-capitalist and anti-colonial organizers that either may not have access to those sources or don't want to engage with them.

Seeding Sovereignty

Seeding Sovereignty; an Indigenous-led collective, works to radicalize and disrupt colonized spaces through land, body, and food sovereignty work, community building, and cultural preservation. By investing in Indigenous folks and communities of the global majority, we cross the threshold of liberation together.

Indigenous Environmental Network

IEN is an alliance of Indigenous Peoples whose Shared Mission is to Protect the Sacredness of Earth Mother from contamination & exploitation by Respecting and Adhering to Indigenous Knowledge and Natural Law.

NOTE: Their COVID relief fund is in dire need of donations right now!!

In response to the incessant police brutality and anti-blackness, right now more than ever the Black community is in need of mental health support. Every day the Black community is witnessing their people being brutalized to death, filmed, publicly degraded, debated about; our safety being dehumanized in real-time, on the news, online, and in social circumstances. These daily recurrences which are supposed to be our daily life are extremely re-traumatizing and triggering.

Black Youth Helpline

The BYH approach brings innovative, professional, culturally relevant perspectives to understanding and addressing the root causes of challenges faced by children, youth and families. Youth, families, schools and other mainstream organizations have a culturally appropriate resource they turn to for related support.

The Flint Water Crisis began in 2014 when the drinking water source for the city of Flint, Michigan was changed from pre-treated water from Detroit to the Flint River and treated in the Flint Water Treatment Plant. The treatment plant was not equipped with the proper equipment to treat the water (which would have cost around $100 a day), and the river water damaged the pipes allowing lead and bacteria to get into the water. To this day Flint still does not have clean water.

Therapy To A Tea, Co is a private therapy practice that centers and serves BIPOC with in the LGBTQQIAA+ Community. We aim to provide not only Culturally competent therapeutic services but also resources and opportunities to build community.

Butterfly: Asian and Migrant Sex Workers Network

Butterfly was formed by sex workers, social workers, legal and health professionals. It provides support to, and advocates for, the rights of Asian and migrant sex workers. The organization is founded upon the belief that sex workers are entitled to respect and basic human rights. Butterfly asserts that, regardless of their immigration status, Asian and migrant sex workers should be treated like all other workers.

Asian Mental Health Collective

It is the mission of the Asian Mental Health Collective to normalize and de-stigmatize mental health within the Asian community. The Asian Mental Health Collective aspires to make mental health easily available, approachable, and accessible to Asian communities worldwide.

(they also accept donations via Benevity if your employer does matching)

SWAN is one of only two organizations in Canada providing culturally-specialized supports and advocacy to im/migrant women engaged in indoor sex work. The diverse voices and ongoing resilience of these communities of women fuel SWAN's mission to change the social and political narratives that racialize, misdefine, exclude and otherwise harm them.

Trans Fundraisers

Many trans, GNC, and non-binary people need your support to reach their transition goals. Medical care often doesn't cover the range of expenses and life-saving goals we have. Gender re-affirming processes are either deemed cosmetic (and thus not covered), are only partially covered, or are just not covered period.

If you have a trans fundraiser you need boosted feel free to contact me on Twitter (@queerlich) with the link so I can add it here.

Trans Housing Coalition

This fund was started for a small community of Black Trans women living on the streets of Atlanta, many of whom are also sex workers. We now are not only able to help this community, but this project has grown into a unique opportunity to alleviate the chronic homelessness that exists among Trans people in Atlanta, especially among Black & brown Trans people.
